Architectual Designer

Todd is committed to expanding upon design concepts, and bringing the visions of our clients’ to life. He believes the home should be a direct reflection of oneself and hopes to convey the personalities of our clients in his designs.

Selections Process

The selection process can be the most overwhelming area for many clients. Katie, our Selection & Design Coordinator, is at the first design meeting and involved throughout the project to help you at every step.

  • Twin Spires was founded in 2012, and since has become the region’s premier construction & remodeling company, structured as a true design+build team. The owner, architect, our project mangers and skilled laborers all have over 20-30+ years experience in the industry respectively.

  • A design-build firm provides both design and construction services for a project under one roof. We handle everything from the initial planning and design to the actual construction and finishing, offering a streamlined experience for clients. This approach helps with faster project completion, better coordination, more accurate budgeting, and a unified responsibility for both the design and construction phases.

  • Most importantly, our initial processes are designed to get to know you and clarify your vision and goals. In a nutshell, it begins with an initial onsite visit at your home, a design/budget meeting in our office, our Discovery phase (see next FAQ), setting a timeline, scheduling a start date, and completing construction.

  • Our Discovery Agreement is where a lot of the magic happens, beginning with a laser scan of your house from which we will produce drawings and renderings; arriving at a finalized design concept and budget. You’ll then be guided through the selections process by Katie & Melissa, while Alex works out the construction side of things. After a design and selection review, we’ll present a comprehensive project proposal, then we’re ready to go to contract! You will know, to the dime, what the cost of your project will be.

  • Yes, there is a fee. This covers the entire design and selections process, revisions included, and it gives you a full set of drawings and 3D renderings of your project. This fee is 100% applied to the cost of your project when you go to contract.

  • Yes, we do! Todd Shelburne, partner in the company, is our in-house Architectural Designer. He brings a deep knowledge base in his field, a unique approach to achieving the vision of each of our clients, and is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of beautiful design, always connected to functionality.

  • Every project we take on is unique. From changing layouts and moving mechanicals, to expanding the footprint of a house and selecting materials, there are a number of variables that come into play. We are operate as a fixed cost company. Our projects begin around $250K, ranging to $2M+. Our processes are second to none, creating a seamless, transparent, and worry free experience for our clients.
