Remodeling Tips for Your Spa-like Bathroom Renovation

Bathroom Remodel Design | Twin Spires Remodeling

Just imagine… coming home from a long day at work and taking a warm, relaxing bath to relieve stress. Now realize that your bathroom is nowhere near that spa getaway. Whether it’s the shower that needs replacing or an old toilet that has got to go, we think it’s the perfect time to tackle any home improvement project. Renovating a bathroom is one of the top ways to increase your home’s value. Every buyer wants that pristine bathroom that is functional and beautiful to look at and be in.

Many clients don’t consider all the pieces that go into a bathroom renovation; that’s why we created this guide to help anyone struggling with knowing where to start!

 Prepare For the Process

The first step for any room renovation, no matter the type of room, is to prepare the space that is getting redone. For a bathroom, there are usually many little things that need to be moved out, like towels, toiletries, and any other items commonly found here. If you plan on painting, consider taking down towel hooks, and any pictures or shelves mounted on the wall. If the bathroom renovation is for the master bath, you may want to sleep in a different room of the house for the time being. The space will be dusty and not a fun place to sleep near.

 Gather Ideas

The fun part of remodeling is getting to choose exactly what you want the new space to look like. We always recommend creating a wants and needs list to gather your thoughts and ideas in one place. Below, we listed custom bathroom upgrades that we see many clients choosing.

-       Heated tile floors

Stepping onto cold tile after a warm bath or bright and early in the morning is no longer a problem! Heated tile floors make any bathroom feel like a spa.

-       Freestanding tub

The iconic freestanding bathtub is typically the centerpiece in the bathroom. It’s elegant and adds character to the room. If there’s space for it, we always recommend installing one!

-       Large walk-in shower

A small, cramped shower is no way to have a spa-like bathroom. In a large walk-in shower, you’ll be sure to have enough room to sing and dance in the shower!

-       Built-in shower seat with wall niches

A shower seat is an upgrade that we always recommend! It offers a stylistic appeal as well as a functional appeal for homeowners. Built-in wall niches enable the shower to store all your favorite products in a convenient spot. Your shower will look clean and tidy by tucking away the shampoo bottles. Along with making shaving much easier.

-       Custom cabinetry

Installing custom cabinetry is a great way to accommodate your unique needs in the bathroom. There are drawers specifically meant to hold a hairdryer or organize makeup. Whatever you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to find it!
